Building Proposals

The Parish Council have moved a motion to begin the process of selling St Peter’s Moonbi. This is to allow the development of the church site in Kootingal so that we can have a strong Christian presence in this Valley for generations to come.

The proceeds from the sale of St Peter’s Moonbi will be used to buy a new Vicarage (church house).

The Parish Council plans to:

  1. Renovate St Andrew’s Church Kootingal
  2. Sell St Peter’s Moonbi and buy a new Vicarage
  3. Renovate the existing Vicarage into a ministry centre

These plans will be carried out as funds are available and in order of priority, as ordered above.

All church properties are owned by the Anglican Diocese of Armidale and so it will take time before we can sell the property. Set procedures will need to be followed.

After the sale, Ladies Craft and other midweek ministries will be held at St Andrew’s Kootingal.
